The Wildside Theatre Festival is a Montreal-based festival that takes place over 10 days in the winter.

2015 Curatorial Statement

Welcome to Wildside!

The Festival turns 18 and we delve devilishly into the adult world while keeping ourselves gleefully rooted in childhood.

Montreal darlings Uncalled For bring us their brand-spanking-new Playday Mayday and Saskatoon's Aiden Flynn Lost His Brother So He Makes Another melts our hearts in this Fringe-winning all-ages Frankenstein fable. On the grown-up side, Delicacy and F**k you! You f**king Perv! push our sexual boundaries to new limits while flexing their well-worked theatrical muscles, and Johnny Legdick adds some freakishly epic rock'n roll opera. Throw in UK sensation Rachel Mars' examination of our addiction to being funny in The Way You Tell Them, polish it all off with poetry and dance in the meditative Coming and Going, and you've got a line-up that's wide-open, sky-high, and fathoms deep. Stay up late for the OFFSIDE programming in the gallery, including two glorious tributes to TOM WAITS. You may need to bring the makings of a blanket fort because you're gonna want to spend the whole ten days at Centaur.
