Mission
In a world of electronic itineraries an disconnection, life is like a waking dream, where live human interaction is urgent, and vital. We're interested in the outsiders of this world, acts and events that alienate people from our current society. Our mandate is to create original work that blends text and the landscape of the body in dance and physical theatre, and also to reinvent classical texts for the modern audience. We are also an intercultural theatre, bridging the French and English cultures of Canada in our work. We believe that to keep theatre alive in the modern world, we must address contemporary issues of the next generation, and so many of our stories explore issues set in the urban environment, dealing with race, class, extreme acts of violence, and psychological pressures of the modern day. We envision a generation of theatre artists and audiences engaged in a new intercultural aesthetic that blends the French and English cultures of Canada in a highly physical language of theatre.
