Melanie Marie "Mel" Marginet is a co-founder and artistic director of Theatre by the River (TBTR).

She has performed in many theatre productions around Winnipeg. Favourites include: Cock, Bull, Lungs, The Cherry Orchard, Generous, One Good Marriage, Saint Joan, The Bush‐Ladies (TBTR), The Skriker (Little Echo Theatre). See her on the screen in "The Pinkertons", A Warden's Ransom (Buffalo Gal), Heart Wired (Prairie Girl), Aegri Somnia (Absurd Machine), Randy Guest's The Lady in Grey and HBO Canada's Less Than Kind. She is excited to be a part of the cast of The Communers, a webseries filming next summer.

By day, Mel is the Marketing Director at Great Plains Publications, volunteers with the Global Initiatives committee at the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg and teaches kids theatre as part of the Native Youth Theatre program at MTYP.
