Manitoba Association of Playwrights

Formed in 1979, the Manitoba Association of Playwrights (MAP) is a non-profit organization based in Winnipeg that supports the development of Manitoba plays & playwrights.

Programs

The Open Door

Any playwright with a play in any stage of development can book a reading with professional actors followed by response from a dramaturg. 10-15 plays receive readings each year.

Workshops

Playwrights can workshop their plays for 1-5 days with a full cast, director, and dramaturg.

The Manitoba High School Playwrighting Competition

Workshops, dramaturgical support and public readings of plays by promising young writers.

The Harry Rintoul Award

Awarded to the writer of the best new Manitoba play at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival.

Monthly e-Newsletter

Featuring local events, submission opportunities and news of interest.
