Convergence Theatre, founded in 2006, is a theatre company run by co-artistic directors Aaron Willis and Julie Tepperman based in Toronto ON. The focus of Convergence Theatre is to create Site-Specific theatre in non-traditional and re-imagined theatre spaces[1]. The ATD/Husband Wife duo work independently in Toronto, occasionally writing and producing plays for Convergence Theatre. Using the Jewish Concept “tikkun olam” or “repairing the world” Convergence Theatre believes the creation of art is integral to healing. It has worked closely with fellow site-specific theatre companies based in Toronto, such as Outside the March and Sheep No Wool.[2]

Artistic Statement

“With each new project, we challenge ourselves to find innovative ways to push the boundaries of intimacy between performer and audience. We create plays in site-specific and non-traditional venues, as well as completely re-imagine traditional theatre spaces. We invite our audiences to be an integral part of their theatre-going experience by exploring ways to fully immerse them in the world of the play." [3]
